Ayden discovers his Hand

It's really been a long time since I have updated this blog. Almost a month behind... Ayden has discovered his hands and loves to suck on his fingers and thumbs. It could also be because he's teething and his hands are a convenient teether :p

Look at the way he sucks his thumb! Sometimes, his fingers are spread out and straight and poking his eyes and I will try to help him fold his fingers down but he doesn't seem to get it haha...

Ayden and his First Cup

Ayden is going to move to another phase soon - starting solids. Although he still has to wait a couple more months, we have recently bought him his first cup, first bowl and first spoon for him to play with.

At 3 months, he started rejecting the bottle and will only take small amounts of milk from it when he is starving. So, I thought of letting him start the cup to see if he prefers it. Everyday, I will put plain water into the cup and let him play with it. At least, he bothers to put the cup into his mouth, as opposed to a bottle. But of course, he has never sucked anything from it yet.

Ayden playing with his cup. He has recently dropped a lot of hair :( We are still debating whether to shave him bald.

Opening his mouth wide... For the cup? :)

Putting the cup into his mouth...

He looks so long in this photo!

Happy with his cup :)

Ayden in SG

The above is my favourite photo of Ayden and me. Thank you Yiyi Fiona for helping us capture this beautiful pic!

Ayden got to meet lots of relatives, uncles and aunties in Singapore. Before going to SG, we were quite worried about how Ayden will behave in front of so many "strangers" as he has not seen them before. It turned out that he is very playful and enjoys playing with any "stranger" :)

Vin and I are keen to develop Ayden to be a sociable boy. I guess the key is to bring him out more often and to allow him to have lots of chances to interact with others.

Ayden all dressed up to go out. Love his cute shorts!

Another happy shot of Ayden and Yiyi.

Ayden's Tummy Time (3rd Month)

From time to time, we will put Ayden on his tummy to exercise his arms and neck. The first time we did it, his head was lying on the bed, then as time goes by, he can slowly lift his head and now, he can lift his head upright. The first few times, he had both his hands held straight by his sides to give him the lift and he looked so funny! Like a seal haha. So, I put his arms in front of him to teach him to use his arms to support himself.

This tummy time has another use. We will put him in this position every time we clean his neck. His neck has too many folds and it's impossible to clean when he's lying on his back.

It's not easy to get clear shots of him on his tummy as his hands and legs are always moving about.

Ayden Reading with his Dad

Once, I was out running an errand and when I came back, I saw this funny scene of Ayden and Daddy reading a magazine haha...

And Ayden really looks like he understands what Daddy is reading to him.

Back to SG!

Bringing Ayden back to Singapore is a tough logistic operation. Well... I guess all the hard work is worthwhile when relatives and friends are happy to meet him, and he is very happy to meet them too!

A day before the trip back, I was down with flu. So I was testing if Ayden can wear a child-size mask. Haha... His nose bridge was too small to support it but he really looks cute in it!

Ayden was an angel on the airport express train to the airport. We bought him a pacifier strap for his pacifier but it was just for show. He doesn't like pacifiers!

When we reached the airport, we placed him in his stroller. Love his cute expression in this!

The ascent in the plane was not a problem but when we started to descent, Ayden cried and cried. Refused to breastfeed, refused to drink from bottle. Vin had to squeeze some milk from the bottle into his mouth and he was forced to swallow, and he was all right after that. It was quite a nightmare! However, on the plane ride back to HK, he was all right with the descent. I guess it all depends on how steep the descent is.

Happily lying in the bassinet

Ayden in his Collar shirt and Alien outfit

When packing for our trip to SG, I managed to dig out a lot of "summer" clothes which Ayden has not worn yet, and he is fast outgrowing them.

This is the first time he's wearing a collar shirt but he looks like he's bursting in it haha... Too small for him already.

Ayden looks like he's posing in this pic :)

Ayden smiling happily.

In SG, we went to Mothercare and bought a lot of new clothes for him as it happened to be GSS. Although he is only 3 months old, he looks comfortable in 6 to 9 months size! In fact, we bought him some 9 to 12 months clothes and it just looks a little too long for him.

Vin chose this set of alien outfit for him.

Happy Ayden! (3rd month)

More pics of happy happy Ayden! You can see that he's looking more and more playful and cheeky. Now his top priority is to play! Then, drink milk, then lastly, sleep.

I was feeding him halfway when he turned around, looked at me and gave me his playful look! That means he's not interested in eating but he wants to play.

Many happy expressions of Ayden.
